Day View

The Plan’s day view provides links to the lessons and information to help you prepare to teach. For each scheduled lesson, the Plan’s day view screen provides the course name, lesson information, lesson number and title, materials needed, assessment information, and completion status.

If you don’t complete a lesson on the day it is scheduled, the lesson will move forward on the schedule until you mark it “completed.” When you complete a lesson, it will stay on the plan on that date.

You can use the arrows next to the “Change Date” button to move ahead or behind in the schedule one day at a time. To go to any date, click the “Change Date” button.

Adult Guided Lesson

Lessons that need to be taught by an adult are indicated on the Plan with a grey circle with the letter A. (NOTE:Adult-guided lessons require the adult’s user name and password to gain access to each lesson from the student area.)

  • Grades K-3: All of the lessons for Kindergarten through grade 3 are to be taught by an adult.

  • Grades4-5: In grades 4-5 some of the courses are adult-guided.

  • Grades 6-8: In grades 6-8 all of the online lessons are developed for the students to go through on their own.

Lessons

  • If the lesson is delivered online, the lesson title will be underlined and highlighted in blue. Click on the lesson title to go to the lesson.

  • The Literature courses within Language Arts/English contain some units in which you and your student will select which novel to read from a list. The lessons for the selected novel then appear in the Plan and Progress.

  • Lessons that are delivered entirely off of the computer are not highlighted. Use the materials list to print the documents needed to teach the lesson.

Assessments

  • Click on the highlighted “Assessment” link to go directly to the assessment.

  • Assessments that have not been taken are indicated as “Not Taken.” Assessments that have been taken are indicated with the assessment results.

Completion Status

The plan offers a quick way to see if the day’s lessons are completed, not completed, or skipped. The boxes in the far right column show the completion status. A filled-in box indicates a completed lesson, an empty box indicates a lesson that is not complete, and a box with a slash through it indicates a skipped lesson.

To change the status of a lesson:

  1. Click on the box associated with the lesson.

  2. Click on the box that represents the accurate status.

Completion status

Please note:

  • Once you mark a lesson completed, you cannot change its status. The lesson stays on the plan on the date it was marked “Completed.”

  • A lesson that is marked “Skipped” can be changed to “Completed” or “Not completed.” The lesson will remain on the Plan on the date it was marked “Skipped.” Changing the lesson status back to “Not completed” will move that lesson to be the next one taught for the course.

Materials

The plan’s day view lists the materials for the courses you’re teaching on the displayed date. The materials are divided into those the learning coach will use and those the student will use. The plan will indicate when the Teacher Guide is required.

  • To view the materials lists: Click the “Show Materials” button on the plan’s day view. Required and optional materials are listed separately. You will need to purchase materials shown as “Also Needed.” Use the “Print” button in the navigation toolbar at the top of the screen to print a list of the materials.

  • To print worksheets and documents for lessons: Click on a document name. (Documents are indicated with an icon.) The document will open in a new browser window. Use the browser’s “Print” feature to print the document. Many of the documents can also be found in the pre-printed Teacher Guide and Student Pages that were shipped to you with the other course materials.

  • To hide the materials lists: Click the “Hide Materials” button on the plan’s day view.

Week View

The plan’s week view shows all of the lessons for five days at a time, including the course name, unit number, lesson number and title, and completion status.

Use the arrows next to the “Change Date” button to move ahead or behind in the schedule one week or one day at a time.
